Employees of the trade union sent a corresponding appeal to the President of Russia Vladimir Putin.

“The trade union of RAS workers has prepared an appeal addressed to Vladimir Putin and sent it to the reception room of the head of state,” said Yevgeny Onishchenko, deputy chairman of the trade union.

Until 2024, it is planned to allocate more than 540 billion rubles for the national project.

Scientists have calculated that without taking into account the funds of the national project, funding for civil research, for which it is planned to allocate 373 billion rubles from the budget in 2018, will grow by 3-4% per year. In total, by 2024 https://123helpme.me/hero-essay-example/ it will amount to about 600 billion rubles. This figure in the trade union was compared with the amount of funding for science in 2014, which then reached 438 billion rubles – taking into account inflation in prices of 2024, this amount, according to scientists, is equivalent to about 700 billion rubles.

“Thus, even in the framework of a fairly optimistic scenario, the level of budgetary funding for civil science in comparable prices in 2024 will not reach the level of 2014. Moreover, if we strive for a full-fledged scientific and technological competition with the leading countries of the world, it should be borne in mind that in the overwhelming majority of developed countries, both GDP and the share of spending on science in relation to GDP, as well as the total number of researchers, continue to grow ”, – reported in the trade union.

Earlier in July, the Minister of Science and Higher Education of Russia Mikhail Kotyukov said that the discussion of the national project “Science” in the government of the Russian Federation is planned to be completed by October 1 – by the date set by the President of Russia.

The national project “Science” should be developed in accordance with the May presidential decree. Also, according to the instructions of the head of state, in 2024 Russia should become one of the five leading countries in the world carrying out research and development in areas determined by the priorities of scientific and technological development. By this time, at least 15 world-class scientific and educational centers should be created.

A competition for grants for young scientists has been announced in Moscow, according to the official website of the Moscow Mayor.

The competition was announced by the government of the capital together with the Russian Foundation for Basic Research.

In total, according to the results, 50 research projects will be selected, the total amount of funding for which will be up to 200 million rubles for 2018-2019. The city will provide half of this amount.

“Thanks to the competition for grants, young scientists of the capital can realize their bold ideas and implement promising scientific developments, and the city will receive a significant scientific backlog that will contribute to solving urgent problems of the city economy and improving the quality of life of Muscovites,” said the head of the Department of Science, Industrial Policy and Entrepreneurship Alexey Fursin.

On the eve of Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin wrote in his microblog on Twitter that the amount of grants for the winners of the competition for projects of young scientists has grown to 4 million rubles.

The competition accepts projects and research in the field of energy, social and humanitarian sciences, information technology, construction and nanotechnology, biotechnology and medicine, ecology and security. The application can be submitted until September 21, 2018. Young scientists will be able to participate independently or as part of a group of up to five people. Their age should not exceed 35 years (for doctors of sciences – 39 years).

The expeditionary detachment of the Northern Fleet landed on the Novaya Zemlya archipelago as part of the third stage of the research expedition, TASS reports, citing the press service of the Northern Fleet.

The expedition was organized at the initiative of the joint strategic command of the Northern Fleet and with the support of the Russian Geographical Society.

The staff of the Institute of Geography of the Russian Academy of Sciences took an active part in the preparation of the third stage of the expedition.

“The personnel of the expeditionary detachment delivered the large landing ship“ George the Victorious ”to the starting point of the route, which carried out the landing of equipment on the unequipped coast in Krestovaya Bay,” the press service said.

Further, the members of the expedition will continue to move on five two-link snow and swamp vehicles DT-10-P.

The main objective of the third stage of the expedition The main objective of this stage of the expedition is to cross the Northern Island of Novaya Zemlya along the route Krestovaya Bay – Unknown Bay, first passed by Vladimir Rusanov 110 years ago. Further, in the Russkaya Gavan Bay, the members of the expedition will explore the routes to reach the glacial dome of the Northern Island, and will also erect a memorial sign in memory of the entry into the Russian Gavan of a submarine detachment of the Northern Fleet in 1936.

In the third phase, ground research will be carried out. It takes about a month to complete all activities.

One of the main tasks of the project is the formation of civic and patriotism among the military personnel by examples of the exploits of the Russian polar explorers of Novaya Zemlya: Rozmyslov, Pakhtusov, Tsivolka, Moiseev, Rusanov, Sedov.

In the fourth quarter of 2018, Rosatom will supply silicon-28 (28Si) isotope to Germany for the international scientific project “Kilogram-3” to create a new generation mass standard, reports TASS with reference to the press service of TVEL Fuel Company (part of Rosatom).

It is noted that in 2005, on the recommendation of the International Bureau of Weights and Measures, actions were initiated to develop new definitions of the basic units of measurement, including the unit of mass – the kilogram, since the standard made more than 100 years ago is gradually losing weight. Within the framework of the project, a new standard was created in the form of an ideal spherical sphere made of polycrystalline silicon enriched in the stable isotope 28Si, with a deviation from sphericity of less than 30 nm.

The annual report of TVEL JSC indicates that in 2016 the first silicon crystal enriched in the silicon-28 isotope was developed and supplied for an international project.

The project coordinator and the customer under the contract is the Physicotechnical Federal Office of Germany PTB (Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt).

The highest award for a scientist is that his name will be included in textbooks, said the rector of the Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov Victor Sadovnichy.

He stated this during the presentation of the IV All-Russian Prize “For Loyalty to Science.”

“We have gathered for such a significant event, we celebrate the laureates, but in fact, all are winners. I agree that science is a way of life and science must be sick. And you have to do something that no one else has done. The highest award for a scientist is that his name will be included in textbooks, ”Sadovnichy said.

The rector recalled that 20 years ago, a lecture hall at Moscow State University was organized.

“But the state of the art is such that we need to use all the opportunities and online support is needed. To talk about science, achievements, to conduct discussions, “Sadovnichy said.

The rector of Moscow State University presented the award in the category “Best Online Science Project”. The information and service portal “Indicator” became the winner in this nomination.

This year the award “For Fidelity to Science” is being held for the fourth time. The number of nominations for the award was increased to 11 – the “Best project about science in social networks”, “The best children’s project about science” and “Breakthrough of the year” were added.

The annual All-Russian Prize “For Loyalty to Science” was established by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation. The aim of the initiative is to encourage media representatives and other promoters of the modern scientific process. Since this year, the organizing partners of the event are the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov.

The event will take place at FEFU. It will bring together up to 250 experts from Southeast Asia, Europe and America, as well as New Zealand and Australia.

“This year the Ice Symposium will be held for the first time in our country and in our city in the first half of June. Issues related to the study of ice and hydraulic problems in both sea and river conditions will be discussed. This is the study of ice properties, ice shape, ice loads, sea ice, sea waves, offshore structures, environmental problems – a fairly wide range of topics, ”Becker said.

The event is hosted by the International Hydraulic Research Association with the participation of an independent international organization of hydraulic engineers and specialists in water technology.
