Ravens QB Trace McSorley working as punt returner

Have the Ravens found their very own Taysom Hill?
That is what Baltimore is expecting after drafting quarterback Trace McSorley in the sixth round of the 2019 NFL Draft.
In addition to his position as Saints quarterback, Hill played tight end, running back and wide receiver. He also combined the field goal block component and punt and kickoff coverage.

McSorley was a dual-threat player as a starter at Penn State — he passed for 77 touchdowns and 9,899 yards and ran for 1,697 yards and 30 scores. It’s easy to see why the Ravens want to utilize him in different ways.
“You saw what the Saints have done down with their third quarterback,” Ravens coach John Harbaugh said in May, via ESPN. “That is something we’ll have an opportunity to do, also, with Trace. He is going to have the ability to play with special teams. The more you’re able to do. You need players with characters, and he’s a guy which has a opportunity to have a huge role .”
Even though the comparisons to Hill are evident, the Ravens are analyzing McSorley out at a position even Hill did not play 2018 — punt returner. McSorley took reps returning punts within the past several weeks at Ravens OTAs and minicamp practices.
“It’s something that’s a brand new challenge for me, something that I had not really had never completed,” McSorley said, via the”The Lounge” podcast. “So it is just something intriguing to be able to enter and learn and try and establish myself at a different way that I could be able to get on the field and make an impact.
“It has been interesting. It’s going well, although it’s had its ups and downs, of course the first couple times doing this. I am looking forward to be able to come out and do anything that I could, especially in the particular teams facet for the group. I would like to show myself there.”
Whatever the Ravens do with McSorley, anticipate it to become untraditional. Second-year quarterback Lamar Jackson is the newcomer, but that does not mean McSorley won’t see the field.
